Web based CRM software for convenience and versatility

I have been put in charge of coming up with a solution to better manage the customer databases. The challenge that I face is coming up with a solution that will work across dispersed geographic boundaries. There are several sales offices spread out internationally. One solution that I am considering is web based CRM software. The beauty of the internet is that you can access the application no matter where you are. Sales professionals can even login from home or on the road if they need to check important details.
