Probably the easiest way to buy a new car, other than using your own cash is to finance it with an auto loan which should not be mistaken for a normal personal loan. Most people are unaware but a car loan is a secured loan on the car being purchased; as the balance is gradually paid off, the amount of credit at risk decreases. The next part is easy if you know how much you will have available to spend because it is just a matter of looking online for a car within your budget.

There is no doubt about the fact that this is a very time and cost efficient method of looking for cars, the only downside being you can't test drive a car online but it does beat looking around car dealerships. New cars will obviously be more expensive but that doesn't mean you cannot have your choice of car if you don't mind have a model that is a couple of years old because this loan is available for used models as well. Anybody can get the auto loan provided they have a good credit history so never make the mistake of applying for it without first checking out your credit score.

An adverse credit score does not automatically bar you from having a loan but you will be charged more for the privilege. If your score is under 550, this is when you may find you are penalized when you apply for finance but above this level there shouldn't be any problem at all. As auto loans can be arranged via all the normal financial institutions, it is worth looking around for the best rates if you are in the position too!

Although it is a good idea to keep your monthly repayments low, this is only one thing to consider and low repayments now may mean increase costs later on. Many people choose a low ‘down' payment thinking it's easier to manage but that choice increases the total cost of the loan and in the end they may end up paying more than what the car is worth. Having insurance can also help you to get a better deal sometimes although it is not necessary; the finance company does not have the same risk if protection is in place, should anything happen to the borrower.

If you are getting additional rebates in exchange for you financing through the car dealer, then you should take their car financing deal; it is quite a simple matter to re-negotiate your finance package from another company once the rebate has been paid. Two particular online auto loan specialists E-Loans and Capital One Auto Finance do not even charge for the application or a down payment. As the online quotes will usually be the lowest, you may even be able to negotiate with you car dealer.
