Newer screening methods of disease

The incidence of colon cancer seems to have declined over last twenty years. This may be because of increased research and subsequent new information available, arming physicians better to effectively screen patients. The reduction in the incidence rate is also related to the advances in medical sciences aimed at early detection and removal of disorders such as polyps, etc. Available now to the physician or the oncologist are newer techniques that helps detection of colon cancer. These ranges from colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and now a new form of virtual colonoscopy which allow a look inside the colon without having to use earlier techniques
